how does a Sexy Old Bag compare to bags that cost about $1 each?
You’ve probably seen these at your local grocery store, and some brands are made from recycled water bottles. The main differences between a Sexy Old Bag and a $1 bag are durability and style. Some of the $1 bags we’ve seen look like they are made from fabric, but if you look closer, they are made from a non-woven material (similar to felt) that may not stand up to repeated use and washing. The material they are made from is not very stretchy, so they might puncture and wear out quickly. And, the $1 bags we have seen are “totes,” meaning they have a flat bottom and handles like a purse, so they are supposed to stand up for the checker to fill them. And you know, for that price, they are probably made in China.
Basically, you get what you pay for. These are cheap, cheap bags that will end up in a landfill sooner rather than later.

how does a Sexy Old Bag compare to bags that cost $10, $22 or $34 each?
In this mid price range, you have totes, and bags that are shaped like a Sexy Old Bag.
First, the totes. Most of these are made from canvas, a heavy cotton or polyester fabric. They will probably wear well, because of the heaviness of the fabric, but the fabric isn’t stretchy, so you are more limited on what you can fit inside them. And they do tend to flop over while the checker is trying to fill them up, especially after you’ve used and washed them a couple times.
Second, other bags that are shaped like a Sexy Old Bag. These bags do generally have a more detailed construction than a Sexy Old Bag, and they come in fancier colors. Many of them come with a little pouch that you can fold the bag into and then carry the whole thing in your purse so you always have one with you. And they are marketed as being fashionable. Like the Sexy Old Bag, these can hang from the sack rack at the store, and are washable and durable. But, except for some that are made of mesh, they don’t stretch to accommodate your purchases. And, if we may point it out again, check where they are made.
The bottom line of this comparison is cost. If you don’t need your grocery bag to make a fashion statement, you just want to get your groceries home, the Sexy Old Bag is for you!

Yes, there are bags that cost over $1000! These bags are for people who don’t know what gas costs per gallon, because they have servants who put gas in their SUV’s. Most of us just laugh and move on when we see a grocery bag that costs this much! It’s a GROCERY BAG, for Pete’s sake!
